Dear Parents and Guardians, 
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year at West Kent Elementary School. For those of you who are unfamiliar with us, we are a volunteer organization made up of parents working with teachers, administrators, and support staff who are all dedicated to the successful education of our children. The Home and School works hard to help make the school year both enjoyable and exciting for students, teachers, and parents.
The West Kent Home and School would like to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning families. Working together we can truly make a difference at West Kent School. Every positive imprint we make on our children can go a long, long way.

What does the Home and School do?
We plan and organize great events such as the Fall Fun Week, Staff Appreciation Week, School Clothing Sales, The Christmas Gift Shop (Third week in December) just to name a few. Some of these events help raise funds to support our school. We provide classroom enhancements and teaching aids to staff and students. In the past our Fall Fair raised funds to provide teacher allotments for enhancements to their class, Art After Dark, Lunch Software, Popsicle social, Caribou Math, Hackmatack, Garden Project, Grade 6 graduation activities, Author visits and funds for the inclusive playground project and more.

What ways can a Parent volunteer?
Anyone with a child (or Grandchild) at West Kent Elementary is invited to be involved in volunteering opportunities. Here are some ways to get involved:
·         Participate with your family in our Family Fun events and enjoy our school community.
·         Our group meets every 8 weeks to discuss school programs, plan fundraisers and events and share ideas.  Attending is a great way to find out what is happening within our school from the Principal and Teachers 

·         Volunteer to help with events, background checks required for non public events, forms can be obtained from the school office.

We in the Home and School believe that it is the ultimate importance that parents do everything we can to enhance the learning environment of our children as they truly are our future. It will take all of us working together to ensure that this happens. We look forward to getting to know you and hope we do all we can to make you feel welcome!
